President and Founder, INCA

Why These Yachts and Not Others?

Throughout the years INCA has experience (more than 3,600 charters) using many different yachts. Their current yacht selection includes only those vessels that are the best meeting luxury and demanding standards. Denver Travel supports how well their crews respect the ecology of the lands. You may charter any the vessel or select a single cabin from their shared departures.

Galápagos

Origin of Species
11-day adventure

INCA offers a remote place like no other, for an experience that will forever change the way you view life on this planet. You hike, swim, snorkel and meander among birds and animals that have no fear of people, that return your curiosity as you enter their world. Come home renewed!

In order to reduce the impact on several highly visited sites, new Galápagos National Park rules prohibit a vessel from visiting any particular visitor site more than once every two weeks. INCA selected the best possible two itineraries for you, which will run on alternating weeks. One focuses more on the western islands with several visits on Isabela; the other focuses on the eastern islands with several visits on San Cristobal. (See schedule below)

Importantly, you will start in Galápagos with an overnight stay on Santa Cruz Island visiting the Darwin Research Station and the Santa Cruz Highlands before you board one of the two yachts so you can have an entire extra day to spend at visitor sites out in the islands.

If you are unsure which you might prefer, Denver travel will be happy to help you. For the ultimate Galápagos experience, cruise for two weeks and do both itineraries!

Sea of Cortez
Making your Baja Dreams Come True

The World's Aquarium. Just south of California lies an inland sea that is rightfully labeled one of the richest marine environments on the globe. Known as the Gulf of California, Sea of Cortez, or Sea of Cortés, and bordered by the arid Baja California Peninsula and Mexican mainland, life in the Sea of Cortez flourishes like nowhere else on earth.

Over 3,000 plant species have been identified in the desert, some of which grow nowhere else on earth, and in the sea, over 6,000 animal species have been identified in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the 100-foot-long Blue whale to the quiet beauty of bountiful reefs, the Sea of Cortez is, in a word, indescribable.

Follow the wind over the waters to the shores of Isla Espiritu Santo where white sand beaches lie untouched in the desert sun. Swim with sea lions and watch for Moorish idols and butterfly fish as you cool off on a snorkeling adventure. Wander among Cardón cactus and Palo Adán trees with your Naturalist and then set off in search for whales and other marine mammals. Converse with fishermen and their families in an isolated village. Enjoy a mule ride into the arroyos with a local ranchero. From the deck of your yacht, watch for pods of dolphins (sometimes numbering in the thousands) and Fin, Sperm, Blue and Pilot whales that call these waters home.

This is pure Baja magic Inca style.

Yacht Cruising in Baja

By cruising, you experience Baja in ways not possible on a land-based adventure. You visit remote and protected places reachable by few, and spend your time in appreciation rather than logistics.

You get to know your fellow travelers—people you'll have more to talk about and laugh with as the days go by. They're people like you, curious about new places and able to appreciate roads less traveled. Hiking or kayaking side by side, you and your shipmates will form lasting friendships.

You also become familiar with your crew and staff, whose goal is to make every aspect of your journey a pleasure and to facilitate your adventures ashore. Throughout your voyage, you're accompanied by a knowledgeable Expedition Leader who offers timely narratives about the local history and wildlife, introduces you to local indigenous peoples, and keeps a lookout for wildlife. Humpback whales abeam while you're in the lounge? Your guide will sound the alert!

Dining is a true delight, a cornucopia of fresh local seafood, just-baked breads, hearty soups, exquisite entrees, sinfully delicious desserts. Dress is always casual. Of course, we're happy to plan for any special dietary needs, and if there's something you've got a craving for, let us know. Milestone events are celebrated in great style onboard.

Antarctica and the Arctic

Akademik Sergey Vavilov
Polar Expedition ship

The Akademik Sergey Vavilov is, in our opinion, the most suitable ship to cruise the sometimes challenging waters of Antarctica and the Arctic.

Designed and built in Finland to perform sophisticated oceanographic research that required great stability, an extremely quiet operation, and an ice-strengthened hull (1A), the recently refitted Vavilov has been the ship of preference for previous INCA Antarctica cruises. Modern, spacious, with all amenities, this vessel is very comfortable and is limited to just 100 guests.

There are public spaces onboard the ship ideally suited for each and every need. The bar and lounge on deck 6 with expansive 180 degree views, and the library on Deck 1 provides ideal places to sit, sightsee, relax or catch up on some reading.

Enjoy meals the ample dining room, where all guests are accommodated in one seating. Other facilities include the theatre-style presentation room, multimedia room, gift shop, infirmary, Wellness Center, fitness room, massage room, sauna, spa, and salt water plunge pool.

TURKEY!!

Turkish yachts: Gulets

What is a gulet?

The Turkish word gulet is a loanword from French gouëlette(present-day spelling goélette), meaning "schooner." A gulet is a wooden motor sailing vessel, now the modern version of the ancient, two-masted, cargo bearing craft from the south-west coast of Turkey. The cargo is now tourists and travelers. They have been adapted to the most stringent of traveler's requirements and now offer luxury and good taste not found in any other craft of similar history and background.

Why these gulets and not others?

Throughout the years INCA has had a lot of experience (more than 3,600 charters) using many different yachts. Their current selection includes only those vessels that best meets their demanding standards. INCA knows how well their crews are supported and their level of respect for the ecology of the lands. The yachts are well built and maintained, their safety records, how problems are handled are a very critical point for INCA, the degree to which the owners share our vision of a great trip.

ALASKA!

Alaska
Making your Inside Passage Dreams Come True

Southeast Alaska, the playground of brown bears and humpback whales, entices adventurers with its diverse wildlife, striking snow-capped peaks, dense forests and abundant marine life. Come experience the magic of Southeast Alaska on an active, intimate and educational adventure, INCA style. Hike to remote hot springs, spot grizzlies on shore and kayak in isolated bays: you discover Alaska's remarkable beauty every day.

Southeast Alaska's Inside Passage is a paradise, best appreciated while traveling in comfort with a small group of like-minded travelers—travelers who know that deep connections with nature are best achieved at a pace that gently awakens and overtakes your senses. Our Southeast Alaska adventures are just that kind of experience.

The long summer days start with richly-hued sunrises and end with sunsets that wash the sky, trees and mountains with soft, rich hues. The mirror-calm waters are disturbed only by feeding fish, a late returning puffin or a humpback whale taking air. You may be on deck with a steaming mug, sipping a fine vintage or gliding in a kayak through the glass. Aromas of breakfast or the roasting salmon that you caught may drift by—the silence broken by the cry of an eagle from a nearby spruce.

This is pure Alaskan magic in the INCA style.
