Activities: The beauty of these islands is unequal - natural wonders abound as 1000-foot waterfalls cascade down sheer volcanic cliffs, stunning white sandy beaches are backed by towering mountains that disappear into the clouds. Their isolation has created an immense pride among the people and a fascinating culture; the language is unique to Tahiti, as the lilting Marquesan dialect is traced directly to the ancient Polynesian tongue of Maohi. The most famous of the Marquesas residents was the post-impressionist painter Paul Gauguin, who created some of his most famous work while living here and his tombstone can be visited in the cemetery on Hiva Oa.

Fares: Prices start for the 14 days cruise from $5855 per person sharing a cabin.
